Ingredients:
- 1 cup brown rice
- 1 ½ cups water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon salt
How To Make Instant Pot Brown Rice:
- Rinse the brown rice under cold water and drain it well.
- In the Instant Pot, add the brown rice, water, olive oil, and salt.
- Close the Instant Pot lid, making sure the pressure valve is set to "sealing."
- Select "Manual" mode and set the timer for 22 minutes.
- Once the cooking time is complete, allow the Instant Pot to release pressure naturally for 10 minutes before releasing any remaining pressure manually.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and serve.
How to store it?
Once the rice has cooled down, transfer it to an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator for up to five days.
How to refrigerate it?
Before refrigerating, allow the rice to cool completely. Once it has cooled, transfer it to an airtight container, seal it tightly, and place it in the refrigerator.
How to reheat?
To reheat the rice, add a splash of water to the container to help steam the rice. Microwave on high for 1-2 minutes or until heated through. You can also reheat the rice on the stove by adding a little bit of water and heating it over low heat until warm.
Tips to make Instant Pot Brown Rice more delicious:
- Add some garlic or onion powder to the rice for extra flavor.
- Use chicken or vegetable broth instead of water for added flavor.
- Add some chopped herbs or spices to the rice for an extra taste.
- For a healthier option, replace olive oil with coconut oil or avocado oil.
