This chai spiced granola is covered with a warm, aromatic spice combination and has a sweet and salty flavour. It is also packed with various nuts and seeds.
Making your own granola at home may make it challenging to go back to store-bought. You may choose the ingredients and alter the flavours in addition to the fact that it is quite simple to produce. Additionally, there are no weird additions. In my cookbook, I include recipes for honey granola and maple almond granola. However, I'm preparing this cosy and delectable chai spiced variation today.
I've been using this as a finishing touch to countless yogurt bowls and other dishes where I want a little crunch and a sweet, savory flavour. And it keeps flawlessly for weeks. AKA: It's ideal for dinner preparation!
CHAI SPICED GRANOLA RECIPE INGREDIENTS
When creating granola, there is genuinely so much potential for creativity. But because I like chai spices, this is a delightful and tasty mixture that I believe you'll adore right away.
- Nuts: I'm using a combination of ½ cup cashews, ¾ cup pecans, and 2 cups almonds. Use whatever other nuts you choose, though.
- Seeds: 1 cup Sunflower and 1 cup pumpkin seeds are excellent for boosting the vitamins and minerals in this granola.
- Spices: Spices: To make a beverage similar to my chai latte, combine 1 tablespoon of cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of ground ginger, 1 teaspoon of cardamom, and ½ teaspoon of allspice.
- Sweetener & Flavours: 2 tablespoon Blackstrap molasses, ⅓ cup honey, and 2 tablespoon vanilla essence are used to bind the nuts and seeds together. But they also provide a delicious flavour to our granola.
HOW TO MAKE GRANOLA
Mix Seeds And Nuts: The nuts and seeds are blended. They should be processed in a food processor until they are finely chopped. Alternatively, you might cut them roughly with a knife.
Combine Well Everything: All the components should be combined. Combine the spices, blackstrap molasses, honey, and vanilla essence with the nut and seed combination. Everything must be thoroughly covered.
Slicing And Baking: Slicing and baking Spread the granola in a thin layer on top of the two baking sheets that have been lined with parchment paper. Take the sheet pans out of the oven after 10 minutes of baking at 275°F (135°C) and toss the granola. Reposition the pans in the oven and bake for a further 10 to 15 minutes.
Tip For Making: Keep an eye on it since it might quickly go from golden to burned. It won't look much different and will still be soft when it is baked; that is acceptable. It will solidify after cooling.
Wait For Cooling: Observe cooling. Before using or putting away, take the granola out of the oven and let it cool for at least 30 minutes.
WAYS TO USE GRANOLA
- Include it in your morning routine. This is a great topping for smoothie bowls, yogurt bowls, chia pudding, cereal bowls, and even fresh fruit.
- Make your dessert crunchier. This works well for creating fruit crisps (like my berry crisp), incorporating chocolate bark, and topping ice cream, among other things.
- Take a nibble of it. Occasionally, whenever I want a fast crunchy nibble throughout the day, I love to munch on a handful size.
HOW TO STORE GRANOLA
I like to use these big glass jars to keep granola. However, any airtight container will do. Here are two methods for keeping it.
- To keep for the coming week: For many weeks, keep this granola at room temperature in a big jar or container.
- Freezing for later: You may freeze this for up to three months if you want to enjoy it for an additional month.

Conclusion
You can make granola in your home using a few nuts and seeds. Using this in your morning will keep your whole day fresh and healthy. If you are a dessert lover you can add it to enhance the flavor and simply use it as a snack.
CHAI SPICED GRANOLA
Ingredients
- 2 cups almonds
- ¾ cup pecans
- 1 cup sunflower seeds
- 1 cup pumpkin seeds
- ½ cup cashews
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon cardamom
- ½ teaspoon allspice
- 2 tablespoon organic blackstrap molasses
- ⅓ cup honey or maple syrup
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C). Place your nuts and seeds into a food processor, and pulse until they've been chopped to a medium texture. Alternatively, you can roughly chop them with a knife.
- Place the nuts and seeds into a large mixing bowl. Add the spices, molasses, honey, and vanilla extract. Stir together thoroughly.
- Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Divide the granola mix evenly between the two pans in a single, flat layer.
- Bake for 10 minutes, then remove the sheet pans from the oven and stir the granola. Rotate your pans when you place them back in the oven. Cook for an additional 10 to 15 minutes, being careful not to burn the granola. Note: It can quickly go from golden to burned within a minute, so keep an eye on it. It won't look any different when it's done baking and will still be soft – that's fine. It will harden once it cools.
- Remove the granola from the oven and let it cool for 30 minutes. Place it in a sealed container and store it for future use.
