This is how you make a mouthwatering BBQ sauce, folks! It has the ideal balance of sweet, smokey, and spicy flavors as well as that luxuriously rich texture we all love. Oh, and it’s not too difficult. Simply a basic barbecue sauce recipe that you can quickly and easily produce. I won’t argue that purchasing a bottle of barbecue sauce is practical. Yet I would admit that this traditional homemade version thrills every barbecue fan, and that’s saying a lot.
It brings all the delightful flavors of outdoor grilling to the table because it is thick, smoky, and sour. Alternatively, you’ll need it for your upcoming summer BBQ. Spread it on cooked meats, dunk fresh-cut fries in it, etc.
Several recipes call for tomato sauce and tomato paste, but ketchup frequently contains extraneous components. To create the ideal tomato-y base, simply combine tomato sauce and paste.
BBQ SAUCE INGREDIENTS
- Vinegar: Apple cider vinegar has the ideal amount of tang.
- Blackstrap Molasses: Molasses has a deep, rich color and a natural, subdued sweetness.
- Tamarind soy sauce
One spoonful of tamari soy sauce is all that is required for a hint of umami taste. You may also use Worcestershire sauce or coconut aminos, but if you choose the latter, make careful to double-check the ingredients because many of them include gluten. - Spices: A combination of smoked paprika, mustard powder, garlic powder, onion powder, kosher salt, and pepper adds flavor and heat.
HOW TO MAKE BBQ SAUCE
You must cook everything at the same time in the cooker to combine the flavors. So don’t worry, it only takes a few minutes to complete this process. After that, all it needs is some time to cool before you can use it.
Combine and prepare the sauce. Whisk all of the ingredients together in a medium pot.
Over low heat, bring the mixture to a boil before simmering it. Ten minutes of simmering with intermittent stirring should result in a modest reduction.
Observe cooling. Put the sauce on low heat and let it cool. Give it a stir after it has cooled, then serve.
HOW TO MODIFY THIS BBQ SAUCE
When it comes to BBQ sauces, everyone has their own personal favourites. There are many various kinds of BBQ sauces available since some people prefer their food to be sweeter, spicier, or more sour. But I believe this version is an excellent foundation from which to build.
If you’d like a sweeter BBQ sauce,
add one to two tablespoons of honey. If you need a little bit more, just add a little bit more, and you should be good to go!
Cayenne pepper
It can be made spicier by adding ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper or a few drops of your preferred hot sauce.
Use BBQ SAUCE IN EVERYTHING
- Use it to cook. Baste your meats with a coating of BBQ sauce towards the finish of grilling or pan searing. This is very tasty when combined with grilled chicken!
- With it, toss. Throw some BBQ sauce on some pulled pork or shredded chicken! You may load sweet potatoes with it or eat it on its own.
- Scratch it. For the ideal smokey, saucy touch, spread a layer of it on sandwiches, wraps, or even as the base of a pizza.
- Swirl it. If you don’t want the food to be entirely covered with sauce, you can drizzle this over salads, bowls, tacos, or even plain grilled meats.
- Try it out. Nothing compares to a huge bowl of fries with a side of BBQ sauce.
- Chicken – Drizzle over shredded chicken for a BBQ Chicken Sandwich or use on roasted chicken for a tasty dinner.
- Pork: Excellent with brisket, ribs, and most especially pulled pork. Howdy, finest sandwich with pulled pork ever!
- Burgers: Delectable when used in place of ketchup to make a flavorful BBQ Burger.
- Pizza – For a BBQ Chicken or Pulled Pork Pizza, use in place of pizza sauce. Yum!
